Driveway Tear Out In Progress

We're in the midst of the last big project for the year - driveway tear out.  We've enlisted the help of Edge Design and Build for this one...
The original driveway had three issues:
  1. The driveway was just wide enough for us to park our car in, just not wide enough to open our doors
  2. The slope of the drive way was just shy of a black diamond run, little cars would bottom out
  3. Drainage was via a small six inch drain, not good for Seattle
While we're at it, we're also changing the approach to the house.  Currently, the approach to the house is via a sideways set of stairs, ultimately, the stair approach will be straight on from the sidewalk.

The project should be complete in the next two weeks, Edge has made some awesome progress so far and we're excited to see it completed.

Original slope and width, notice the two "boat ramps" that the previous owner had installed to keep from bottoming out his / her car...

Sideways approach via the stairs, didn't make moving day very easy...

"Retaining wall"

Widening the drive, the right retaining wall will be flush with the end of the house, the left will be moved in 6 - 9 inches off the left side of the garage...  This will certainly allow us to open our car doors...

No changes to the approach yet, it's coming shortly...
